Philips Plasma TV Offers Flexible Sizing Options

Plasma television monitors are setting a new standard for television viewing and joining the foray is Philips Consumer Electronics with its Philips plasma TV sets available in the three most popular sizes on the market. The company's 42, 50 and 63-inch models accommodate the sizes most sought after by consumers and offer quality, high definition picture clarity to fit virtually any room in the house.

Philips Consumer Electronics is no stranger to the home electronics entertainment market, growing from its initial market for lighting products, quickly dominating the global market, through its entry into the medical electronics industry and television market. The company sold its one millionth television set in 1984 and with the introduction of the LCD and Philips plasma TV sets, continues to grow.

The available sizes of the Philips plasma TV can accommodate virtually any size room. With the smallest plasma televisions on the market typically around 42-inches, the company's smallest set can be viewed from an average of five to 10 feet without loss of picture quality. While room sizes are estimates and individual preference will dictate the size of an individual's unit, to be able to see the entire picture in plasma quality, the sizes are recommended.

Larger Rooms Demand Larger Screen Sizes

As the size of the room grows longer, the size of Philips plasma TV will also need to grow. The 50-inch screen is determined to be best viewed from between six and 12-feet for optimal viewing and the 63-inch Philips plasma TV works well in environments of between eight and 16-feet. Those with larger rooms in which the television is installed can also move viewing chairs closer to the screen as opposed to buying larger television monitors.

The Philips plasma TV market, like most of the markets in the electronics industry seek to improve ease of use for their customers and the 42 and 50-inch models are cable ready high definition quality monitors. The 63-inch model includes the pixel plus 3 high definition technology, to enhance the viewing experience of those sitting off to the side of the picture.

With the many advantages of a Philips plasma TV over typical LCD televisions, and newer research reducing the opportunity for screen burn in ghosts, the units are designed to last a typical 60,000 hours, which equates to about 27 years of viewing, on an average of six hours per day. Regardless of the size of a Philips plasma TV, proper care and precautions can extend its life beyond expectations.

A Flat Screen Defines Balance
The concept of a perfectly made flat screen display says it all, eliminating all ideas of a curvature effect and distorting of edges that are possible to happen in CRT displays. The plasma television also displays a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9. The number 16 corresponds to the width of the screen while the number 9 corresponds to the height of the screen. This type of ratio is just appropriate for HDTV as well as in DVD viewing in the format widescreen like those in the movie theaters. read more...
