Plasma TV Wall Mounts - Giving A Tidy Look and Free of Cables

If you are not into the ideas of having your newly purchased plasma television be set-up either on a stand or be kept in a cabinet, then mounting it on a wall is your best option. It gives more space and a luxurious environment having a wide flat screen television simply attached to your wall. It might look simple to do the mounting part but it may be challenging if you don't know how to follow simple instructions. Let me make things a little easier for you. First thing that you have to bear in mind in purchasing a wall mount, buy from a well-known plasma television dealer and upon purchase, make sure if it the size of the mount just rightly fits your television.

Before proceeding to the mounting proper, locate first the studs in your walls. This is best done using a stud finder. It only costs about less than $20 in hardware stores. Studs are important because it is where mount screws are best attached for best results. Also, the stud centers are the stronger ones. Once you have already located the center, draw a mark on it using any writing material such as a ball pen or a pencil. The vertical distance from the mount to the holes of the screw should be properly measured, after which, you can now already decide your preferred height of your plasma television. The target wholes for your screws should be marked for future location. Double check the mount level for it will already be hard on your part if your measurements are not exact. Adjustments will already be difficult to change once committed a mistake and sure it is a mess seeing wrong placing of screw holes on your wall.

Do not use screws that are small. Highly recommended are the bigger screws specifically the #14 x 1.5 inch screws. Pilot holes 13/64" diameters should be drilled first. Using the screws, you can already proceed with mounting your plasma television on your wall but once in a while check if measurements are still exact and of the same level. Next thing to do are drilling some holes onto your wall where cable wires are to be inserted for an over-all look is best viewed when cables are hidden. After making the holes, insert the cables onto your walls. The whole television unit is now ready to be placed on the mount. Most of the time, plastic or rubber mounts are used and are attached at the back of the television, making them fit into the holes and putting in place. Be sure to double check for over-all stability, balance, and leveling. If all is set, plug the wires and start enjoying your favorite movies.

The plasma television also displays a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9. The number 16 corresponds to the width of the screen while the number 9 corresponds to the height of the screen. This type of ratio is just appropriate for HDTV as well as in DVD viewing in the format widescreen like those in the movie theaters. read more...
